How is it going on at work?

Let me be more specific

How is it going on at work ..with your laptops?Working for long hours with your laptops does make you feel exhausted doesn't it? We are all aware of the various ways of reversing this effect but how much of it is really put into practice everyday?

I would like to share a couple of tips that you can do easily during office hours.

Create a check list with the things that you must do to keep yourself healthy at workplace, something that can be pinned up on the soft board just above eye level so that you are able to look at it easily.

I would like to share why its important to add the 2 points below on your check list

1. Fill up my water bottle( Make sure you drink plenty of water during the day.Working long hours in an air-conditioned office can dehydrate you as you run to the loo more often.Coffee, tea and soft drinks cannot substitute for water, in fact they only dehydrate the body by putting the kidney to extra work.)

2.Walk around ( its easy to get totally engrossed in the daily challenges at work, however its important that you take a minimum of 5 minutes break after every 50 to 55 mins, to walk around so that you back and eyes get some relief and your leg get some circulation.A break will always do good to your brains that has been working overtime on a particular issue. This will help rejuvenate your thoughts. If you feel its difficult to keep a track of your breaks then, set reminder on your phone or a beeper on your alarm. Some of you must be already saying " Yeah right! how silly and how stupid" . Sometimes you need to follow very simple rules or go back to basics to get yourselves on track, however silly it may sound... Its better than getting reminders from your wives or husbands every 50 to 55 mins!! Use this 5 mins to walk up to the toilet, look out of the window, stretch etc)

These 5 mins breaks would total up to your coffee breaks you take everyday. If you have a kind boss you would like to add the coffee breaks as well. But you know what? You are better off without the coffee break, instead have your drinks at your desk. Your 5 mins break every 55 mins is more effective than taking a half an hour break after 4 hours.

I will not burden you with a big list of things to do for the moment. I want you to get into a habit by following these 2 tips, that is drinking enough water and a 5 mins break after 50 to 55 mins.

Try this out for the coming 5 days and let me know how you feel.If a few of you have been doing this and more, please continue what you are doing. For those who would like to get started try out this 2 points for the coming 5 working days, tick it off on your check list. Share with us what your thoughts and what you achieved.

Have a great week ahead with your work and your laptops.
